Seasonal Rescheduling/Fall Registration and Fall Seasonal Start
Guys
I have had to move certain games to the turf field @ Bishop McNamara from Soccerplex and Denison that I expect will be rained out this weekend.
I moved to turf fields games that were important for Cup issues and those games for teams that combined had not played more that 14 games
one game had teams having only played 11 games between the two or half a schedule at this point
those teams bumped or moved to a field likely to be rained out had in excess of 16 games or nearly all their schedule complete
in 30 years of doing this I have never not scheduled a season to completion unless a few teams chose not to play their last game
I will endeavor to continue this record Saturday OPal is already scheduled thru July in order to complete the season
if promotion is already established in Sat Opal I will rachet back the # of games in Opal from 10 to 9
Because of the excessive number of inclement weather games pending
I WILL BE SENDING OUT THE FALL 2009 REGISTRATION PACKAGES LATE
AS A RESULT YOU WILL HAVE LESS LEAD TIME THAN NORMAL TO PULL YOUR FINANCES TOGETHER
ALSO GIVEN THE LATE LABOR DAY WEEKEND WE WILL START THE TWO FIRST DIVISIONAL PLAY FOR FALL ON WEEKEND OF AUGUST 22, 2009
SOME NON FIRST DIVISION TEAMS WILL BE SCHEDULED TO START THEN AS WELL
my thoughts for your digestion

Executive Decision: Rescheduling & Cup
Guys
Given the rainout of Bretton Woods & Soccerplex # 23 & 24 this weekend as well as for multiple weekends
It will be impossible to get all necessary season games played by time to kickoff the Cup by weekend of June 20 & 21
ALL TEAMS SHOULD BE AWARE THAT THE REDUCED # OF GAMES @ SOCCERPLEX MEANS THAT YOUR FIELD COSTS FOR THIS SEASON WILL BE HIGH COMPARED TO PRIOR SEASONS AS MORE GAMES ARE THEREFORE PLAYED ON THE TURF FIELDS
As a result of all the rainouts, we will kickoff the Cup on the weekend of June 27 & 28 instead BUT THE CUP WILL BE REDUCED TO 8 TEAMS ONLY
we will start with a quarterfinal instead of a round of 16
TOP 2 OF EACH FIRST DIVISION + TOP TEAM IN EACH OF OPEN/GEMSTONE DIVISIONS (EMERALD/RUBY/SAPPHIRE/DIAMOND) WILL BE INVITED
THERE WILL BE NO WPL TEAMS INVITED TO PARTICIPATE
I will be rescheduling games from this weekend that were rained out for the weekend of June 20 & 21 as well as other games remaining to be rescheduled
I will also move a few weeknight games to that weekend at my discretion to accommodate those teams that are scheduled for a disproportionate # on weekday games
the Bretton Woods teams and their opponents will still need to play on Memorial Weekend
Sorry Folks but this is how we can still have a season and a Cup
I came very close to throwing in the towel and not having a Cup at all
my best to you all

League New Forfeit Rule
There is no longer any ability of a WISL team to call and forfeit its game. Games will be played as scheduled
and no notice of a forfeit will be accepted.
Games must begin no later than 10 minutes after scheduled time and each
team must have at least 7 players dressed and on the field ready to start
the game. If a team is short, the short team shall forfeit and referees are to
report such shortages to league commissioner for official designation of
forfeit. Referees are directed to begin the clock running 5 minutes after the
time game is scheduled to kick-off and to initiate play as soon as 7 players are present.
Time removed will be deducted equally from the two periods of play.
A forfeiting team shall pay the entire referee fee for the game. The only exception shall be
if the non-forfeiting team agrees to play a "friendly" against the forfeiting team.
If the non-forfeiting team agrees to play a "friendly" game after a forfeit is declared by referee, then both teams split
referee costs.
Whether or not to to play a "friendly" game is at the sole discretion of the non-forfeiting team. However, all WISL
teams are encouraged to split players and to play a "friendly" when another team has made the effort to get its
players to the field. The more players a team gets to the field, the more likely it will be that the non-forfeiting team
will agree to play the "friendly."
In every instance of forfeit, should the non-forfeiting team agree to play a "friendly" game, the
referees are to referee the game within the allowed time remaining as if no forfeit were
declared. If referees refuse to referee the game they do not get paid.
