WISL Web Site Instructions for Teams

Signing in to your team administration area

WISL has a new web solution, and although several things are similar to the way our old system worked, there are some new things we’ll have to get used to, such as gaining access to your private team administration and score reporting pages.

In our old system, each team had a single password for access to the team admin section. No matter how many people had access, they each had to use the same password. This has changed with the HummerSport system we use now. Now, each team contact has their own login credentials, and they stick with you for the life of your involvement not only with WISL, but for any other league, club, or tournament that also uses HummerSport. This provides you with a single personal “account” where you can login and manage multiple teams, while also making things much more secure for everyone.

For most, registering with the system should be a snap, but more difficult for anyone who has either not provided an email address to us, or who’s email settings may be blocking emails from HummerSport.com as suspected bulk mail or spam. Please follow the steps below methodically before involving the league. We have hundreds of teams to get set up in this new system, and would very much appreciate you taking every step you can below so we can keep this process as smooth as possible for everyone.

Step 1
WISL will enter you as the contact for your team. IF WISL has your current email address, you “should” have received an automated email from HummerSport with a special link and instructions for creating your account. We say “should” because your personal spam or bulk email blocker might keep this first email out of your email inbox by accident. To avoid this, please add “hummersport.com” to your list of “allowed senders” or “allowed domains”. You should also add noreply@hummersport.com to your personal address book just in case. If you know that WISL does not have your email address, skip to step 5 below.

Step 2
Registering once you receive your email. This should be a simple step. If you get the email from HummerSport, click on the link provided, fill out the form on our web site, and pick your own password. If you do not receive this email, even after repeated attempts at setting HummerSport up as an allowed email sender, then proceed to step 3 below.

Step 3
Go to http://www.hummersport.com/WISL and click on the “teams” link near the top left. It is in the main part of the navigation menu. Find your team on the list, and click on it.

Step 4
Once you find your team page, you should see your name listed near the top right of the page. If you have not registered, there will be a “>> register” option to the right of your name. Click on it, and answer the simple math problem provided (this confirms you are a real human, and not another web “robot” automatically submitting forms online. It takes the place of those squiggly alphanumeric codes you’ve likely seen on other sites, but the purpose is the same). Successfully submitting this form will trigger another email to be sent to the address we have on file, and you can go back to step 1 above. If you never receive this email, see step 5.

Step 5
Send an email to chipterrill@wisl.org with your name, team, best phone number, and preferred email address to use for league business. We’ll enter this information in the system, which should trigger the registration email for you. See step 1 above once we confirm by reply email that we’ve updated your information in the system. If you find yourself back to the bottom of step 4 again, then skip over this step (5) and see step 6 below.

Step 6
Send another email to chipterrill@wisl.org again with all the same information stating still cannot register, even after following every step in this process. At that time, we’ll take the time to log in to the system and register on your behalf, then send you a user name and password. This will not be the best fix for you however, as we still need you to be able to receive emails from the system. You should do everything you can to determine through your email service provider why emails from HummerSport are not getting through, and ask them to please allow these emails.

Reporting scores

Step 1
Go to the league home page at www.hummersport.com/wisl (or wisl.hummersport.com). Log in using the username and password you created.

Step 2
You will come to your team admin page. While additional feature may have been added since this writing, at the very least, you will have two primary options from the horizontal navigation choices above the welcome message – Report Scores or Manager Roster. IF you have not yet entered your roster, click that link and do so before continuing. Once your roster is entered, click the “Report Scores” option.

Step 3
You will see a list of all your currently schedule games for all competitions within which you are entered that also use HummerSport for their web-based competition management.

Working with data tables in HummerSport
Column Width: Just like most spreadsheet software programs, you can re-size columns by either clicking on the seem to the right of the column header and dragging it wider, or by simply double-clicking the seem and letting it auto-size based on the maximum width of any content in the column.

Column Order: If you do not like the order of the columns, simply click on one of the column headers, hold the mouse button in, and drag the column to a new position.

Sorting: The team schedule table on HummerSport allows you to sort all columns except the scores. So, if you’re schedule is long and you need to find the right game, you can click on the column headers to sort the column.

Once you find the game for which you need to report or update a match report, single-click on the game date.

Step 4
The match report form is pretty straightforward. Fill in the home and away team scores first. If you fill in a number higher than zero for your team, then goal scorers and assist provider rows will appear automatically. If they do not, then leaving the scores fill in, hit the refresh button on your browser. There will be one row of choices for each goal you reported. The choices for goal scorer and assist come from your roster, hence ensuring your filled that in prior to arriving to this point. You should also choose the minute in the game the goal was scored for later statistical analysis. Choose weather, pitch condition, and referee rating to the right, then provide your match story. Note: the match story will be visible to the public, so do not provide information you would not want people outside of your team to read. Click the submit game report button and you’re all done.
