HummerSport is not Founder Chris Hummer's first go-round at providing internet solutions to grassroots soccer organizations. His first company - HotStat.com, Ltd. - was one of the first systems to provide instant web site solutions to soccer leagues, and pioneered the practice of empowering teams and players with the ability to report their own match results and stats.

Created in 1999, HotStat quickly grew to over 120 league web site clients before the name and technology were sold to Demosphere International in 2002. As part of the sale, Hummer signed on as Vice President and General Manager of the company, where he had the privilege of working with some of the world's largest soccer organizations, such as FIFA, U.S. Youth Soccer, National Soccer Coaches Association of America, United Soccer Leagues, and the U.S. Soccer Foundation.

After leaving Demosphere in 2003, Hummer continued to support the original HotStat system as a sub-contractor until late 2007, when Demoshere announced that it would be shut down permanently.

Having already launched two new soccer solutions since 2003 in SoccerAds.com and Potomac Soccer Wire, Hummer was now free to fully pursue his nearly decade-long vision of uniting the global soccer−playing community on a single internet solution.

The new HummerSport competition system was officially launched in August of 2008 after several months of aggressive development and testing. While fully functional for all the basics most leagues need, the current version of the system is only one small part of the overall plan. In the coming weeks and months some amazing, game-changing, features will be rolled out that will change the way local soccer leagues, tournaments, club, and teams are managed online forever.
